The widely used music streaming provider, Spotify, has finally announced its much-awaited CD-quality streaming service.
You shouldn't be shocked that most analysts predict that Spotify HiFi will cost between £15 ($15, AU$20) and £20 ($20, AU$25).
Amazon Music HD just gave new members a 3-month trial of its service, but Spotify already offers a 1-month free trial of its premium service.
Lossless audio can have bitrates as high as 1411kbps, so Spotify HiFi should be a big step up from Spotify Premium, which has a maximum of only 320kbps.
Spotify Connect will play D-quality streams wirelessly from a phone or tablet to a Connect-compatible device over wi-fi.
The firm hasn't said how many songs will be available at lossless CD quality, but it will undoubtedly be in the tens of millions.
The business has also invested significantly in podcasts, such as Bruce Springsteen and Barak Obama's Renegades: Born in the USA.
