I mean, they gave us a trailer at the State of Play show, which was awesome, showing the Nightfarers dealing with some seriously new, scary stuff.
This DLC isn’t just small potatoes; it’s adding new playable characters and new boss fights, plus other good content to the base game.
What’s actually in the Forsaken Hollows?
Because this is the important part, let’s delve into the details: Elden Ring Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows will add two brand-new playable characters, two fresh expedition boss targets, and a new major event called the Shifting Earth. New Characters, or Nightfarers, as they call ’em
You get two new folks to play as, which is great for team variety:
Scholar: The developers have referred to this character as an academic. He basically walks around the Lands Between and has “impressive” arcane skills, meaning magical. He is one of those kinds who wins on the field by observing everything, not necessarily rushing into the field. He’s an interesting addition.
The Undertaker: She’s basically an abbess who has one mission: slay the Nightlord. Using big strength and faith abilities to, well, send the bad guys straight into the afterlife seems like a straight-up heavy hitter.
Both of these new Nightfarers also come with new companions, which, you know, gives you more options for your survival team in Elden Ring Nightreign.
New Bosses and a Huge Problem
You are going to find these two new big boss fights in Limveld, that’s the main area, and they appear on the night of the third day of your run. It’s definitely going to make the final challenge of the run way harder.
Then there’s the Shifting Earth event, which sounds terrifying: a giant hole, a cavity opening up in the depths of Limveld.
There are ruins down there, temples, sacred towers, and crystals, but watch out for the crystals because they emit a miasma that drains your life.
Classic FromSoftware challenge, right? How to Get Your Hands On It The DLC releases on December 5th, but you can actually grab the Elden Ring Nightreign Deluxe Upgrade pack if you want instant access to The Forsaken Hollows.
Also, if you pre-purchase the DLC separately, you get a digital artbook and a mini soundtrack. Not bad. For readers in India, this is priced at Rs. 700 on PC (Steam), PlayStation, and Xbox stores.
Quick Review of the Game Just so we’re on the same page here: Elden Ring Nightreign launched on May 30th for pretty much everything-PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X.
It’s a cooperative survival action game wherein you team up with as many as three people and attempt to live through three nights and three days in this super hostile world. It reached a high of selling 2.5 million copies right on its launch day. This game clearly deserved a DLC.
