The “Road to Unova” event has arrived, filled with activities that will lead up to the main Go Tour: Unova Global event. There’s a substantial amount to explore from February 24 to March 1 in 2025, so let’s break it down.

Legendary Battles and Encounters with Five-Star Raid Content

The event includes a rotating selection of five-star raids starring Gen 5 legendary Pokémon. With daily challenges arising, it’s essential to monitor the raid schedule to ensure you don’t miss your preferred raid times. Not having a specific desired item would be a disappointment, so make preparations in advance.

Research Tasks with Time Limits: Options for Free and Paid Access

Niantic has introduced multiple time-sensitive research tasks for this occasion. The “Road to Unova: Raids Timed Research” quest, which was originally available for free, has been automatically completed for all players due to a software glitch.

If you bought the pay-to-play version, you also got a gift. Encountering Terrakion, Cobalion, Virizion, the Therian Forme legendaries, and Genesect is possible by completing these tasks by 10 AM local time on March 1. You’ll also receive rewards in the form of Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem candy for your hard work.

Besides the complimentary tasks, two paid Timed Research quests are available for purchase, with each priced at $5. The key focus is on raids, providing additional candy, as well as the Candy XL and Black and White Joggers avatar items.

This other mode focuses on hatching eggs, featuring encounters with region-exclusive Pokémon such as Maractus, Sigilyph, and Bouffalant, as well as the Black and White Hoodie. These items are non-refundable and must be finished by March 2.

Tour Pass Options: Free and Deluxe Tracks

The new Tour Pass system provides options for both complimentary and paid routes. The free track features Pokémon encounters and incense, whereas the Deluxe edition, costing $15, includes additional benefits, such as a Victini encounter and the Lucky Trinket.

For an additional $5, you can begin with 10 already completed ranks. These purchases cannot be made using PokéCoins.

Rewards for Participating Events and Unpredictable Wild Encounters

During the event, benefits such as halved egg hatch distances and an increased Remote Raid Pass limit of 20 will be available until February 28.

The restriction is lifted completely during the Go Tour. The spawn rates of wild Snivy, Servine, Tepig, Pignite, Oshawott, and Dewott have been increased.

Spinning PokéStops during events will provide exclusive Field Research tasks, resulting in encounters with eight species: Roggenrola, Timburr, Karrablast, Shelmet, Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott.

Avatar Item Additions and Shop Enhancements.
