Realme C53 Unveiled in India: 108MP Main Sensor, Mini Capsule Display & More

Chinese Smartphone manufacturer Realme is back again to launch a new smartphone in its Realme C series, i.e., Realme C53, in India. The device launched in the global market in May this year.

Also, for those who don’t know, Realme C53 is essentially a re-packaged version of the Realme Narzo N53 with some changes in terms of design & specs.

The device sits below the Realme C55, launched a few months ago in India. Let’s take a look at the Design & Specifications of the Realme C53 (Indian variant).

Realme C53 Design

The Realme C53 features a large display up front with little bezels around the display and a huge chin, which is expected as this is an ultra-budget device.

A front-facing camera is placed in a “mini capsule” (Realme calls it). This is Realme’s take on Apple’s Dynamic Island user interface. However, one thing to note is that the front camera is in the notch, not a punch-hole.

As for the back, There’s a circular-shaped dual rear camera setup at the back with LED Flash. The rear panel features a dual-tone finish.

Also, the rear panel has a shiny finish to it around the dual rear cameras; the rest of the portion is a matte finish. Realme branding is in line with the rear cameras.

First up, There’s a minor difference between the Global & Indian variants of the Realme C53 in terms of specifications. The Realme C53 features a 6.74-inch IPS LCD display with a 90hz refresh rate, FullHD+ resolution, and a 500 nits peak brightness.

A Unisoc T612 octa-core chipset with a Mali G57 GPU powers Realme C53. It has a 4/6GB LPDDR4X, & 64/128GB internal storage that can be expanded via a MicroSD Card up to 2TB.

There’s support for Dynamic RAM up to 6GB. Runs on Realme Ui T Edition based on Android 13, and the device comes in two colourways – Champion Black and Champion Gold.

Optics – There’s a dual rear setup at the back, and the main difference between the Global & Indian variant is the primary camera! As the Indian variant features a 108MP main sensor, whereas the global variant has a 50MP sensor.

Also, there’s no wide-angle lens on the Indian variant; instead, there’s a portrait lens with 3x in-sensor digital zoom and an 8MP Front facing camera.

Battery – There’s a 5,000mAh battery in Realme C53. However, the Indian C53 has a slower charging rate at 18W, while the global variant comes with 33W fast charging. Other features of the device include a 3.5mm audio jack, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, Dual SIM & more.

The Realme C53 comes in 4GB/128GB & 6GB/64B variants.

The 4GB/128GB variant is priced at ₹9,999, and the 6GB/64GB variant is priced at ₹10,999
