With these things in mind, let us start comparing Asus ROG Phone 3 vs Lenovo Legion Gaming Phone a little bit in-depth keeping all the features in mind.
Design and Build
If we look at the designs, you will have the power button, volume rocker, and the trigger buttons on the right side of the Asus ROG Phone 3 and Republic of Gamers branding right below the backlit ROG logo on the back panel.
Upon looking at the Lenovo Legion Gaming Phone, on the front, there are no punch-holes or notch so we can expect a pop-up selfie camera. The two primary cameras are placed at the center on the backside of the phone. The logo is just below the camera setup. The back also has some ribbed textures. There will be 4 gaming triggers on the phone apparently.
The design of the Lenovo Legion Gaming Phone is more impressive as it is quite unique with the cameras in the middle and looks more unique.
Performance
Now, both of the smartphones have the flagship Snapdragon 865+ and that insane 144Hz refresh rate. The Asus ROG Phone 3 is having 16GB RAM and Lenovo Legion Gaming Phone has 12 GB RAM. Both are LPDDR5 and to be honest you will hardly exhaust your gaming phone to that extent. So, any RAM capacity more than 8GB is just a bit much. The last year’s ASUS ROG Phone 2 had some really good optimizations.
Both are gaming phones with the same processor so performance isn’t going to be an issue in any of the two phones and all the games shall glide smooth.
Display
In terms of display, the Lenovo Legion phones is slightly better as it has better resolution, AMOLED screen, more pixels per inch(ppi). So, the display is likely to be better on the Lenovo Legion Gaming Phone.
Battery
Here the Asus ROG Phone on paper has the bigger 6000mAh battery which is humongous, and the Lenovo Legion Gaming Phone has a 5000mAh battery. Now both the phones have fast charging and the Lenovo Legion Gaming Phone will also have that 90-watt fast charging whereas ROG Phone supports 30-watt fast charging so it will make up to the smaller size of the battery compared to the battery of Asus ROG Phone 3.
Gaming Accessories
As both are gaming centered smartphones, they come with some cool gaming stuff. You will have the cool RGB lighting, the gaming triggers that will be 2 on the Asus ROG Phone 3, and 4 on the Lenovo Legion Gaming Phone.
Camera
Both Asus ROG Phone 3 and Lenovo Legion Gaming Phone are gaming and performance-centered smartphones so it would be too much to ask for a flagship-grade camera. Although the ROG phone will have a triple camera setup with a 64-megapixel main shooter, 13-megapixel sensor, and a third 5-megapixel macro sensor too at the back.
On the other hand, the Lenovo Legion Gaming phone will have a dual-camera setup at the back. And side mounted pop-up selfie camera on the front.
The cameras on both the smartphones will most likely be very good but not flagship-grade as photography isn’t really the theme of either of the phones. However, it is expected that the camera on the Asus ROG Phone will be better.
Pricing
The price of base variant for the Asus ROG Phone 3 is INR 49,999 and the price of base variant for the Lenovo Legion Gaming Phone is 3,499 Yuan (~38,000 direct conversion). So yes, the pricing by Lenovo is very aggressive and that is very good.
Final Words
Asus ROG Phone 3 vs Lenovo Legion Gaming Phone is a bit tough as the Asus ROG Phone 2 was one of the best smartphones on paper and it performed really well in the market. So, Asus already have the trust of the customers and customers are expecting the Asus ROG Phone 3 to be as good as the ROG Phone 2.
Lenovo on the other hand hasn’t really launched any great smartphones lately and is planning to make a bold move to enter the market and for that, they are keeping a really aggressive price for the Lenovo Legion Gaming Phone. Lenovo would want to make some impact and not be just and enter and exit the brand in the gaming smartphones section.
Then you have the Xiaomi Black Shark, and Razer phone too, which will also be a competition for the Lenovo Legion Gaming Phone. The Lenovo Legion Gaming Phone is very good on paper and if it delivers a good performance in the real world, with this aggressive pricing, they can really have a good share in the gaming smartphones section.
The pricing for Asus ROG Phone 3 vs Lenovo Legion Gaming Phone does not fall in the same segment as the ROG Phone 3 will be the expensive one so they do not really compare with each other. The Lenovo Legion Gaming Phone will be a much better option for the people who are on a budget and want a high-end performance smartphone.
