The pre-stacked lineup in the affordable mid-range bracket seems to be more stacked as The successor of Redmi Y1, Redmi Y2 was launched in an event held on Thrusday in New Delhi having similar specifications to the Chinese Redmi S2 in three color variants(Dark Grey, Rose Gold, and Gold).

Redmi Y2 has a 5.99-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixels) with an 18:9 aspect ratio(269 ppi),powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, paired with an Adreno 506 GPU and 3GB/ 4GB of RAM, 32/64 GB of Storage expandable via microSD card – with a dedicated card slot. It runs MIUI 9.5 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. It has a 3080 mAh battery under the hood. It has a 3.5mm headphone jack, and Micro-USB 2.0. The smartphone gets an accelerometer, an ambient light sensor, digital compass, fingerprint sensor and other major sensors too.
The Redmi Y2 has a rear vertical dual-camera setup with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor with a 1.25 micron pixel size. The front camera gets a 16-megapixel selfie Super Pixel sensor with features such as an LED selfie-light, AI Beautify 4.0, and Face Unlock feature.
Redmi Y2 price in India is Rs. 9,999 for the 3GB RAM/ 32GB inbuilt storage variant and Rs. 12,999 for the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage model. The only thing that is a problem is the availability of all the others phones that have quite similar features like that of this phone, It becomes quite confusing for the user to decide which one to go for. As far as the availability goes, It will be available on Amazon India, Mi.com, and Mi Home stores from June 12, while offline partner stores may get it in a few weeks.
