Xiaomi at the Mobile World Congress has finally announced the Global Debut of the Xiaomi series. The Xiaomi 13 series includes three under it, i.e., Xiaomi 13 Lite, Xiaomi 13 and the 13 Pro. The Xiaomi 13 series has already launched in China last year.
In this article, we’ll look at the Xiaomi 13 Lite and the regular Xiaomi 13, so let’s start with the Design & Specifications of both devices.
Xiaomi 13 Lite Design
The Xiaomi 13 Lite has a different design language than its other siblings of the Xiaomi 13 series. The overall design language is identical to that of the Xiaomi Civi 2, which launched last year in China. Although there are some hardware differences between the two,
Anyway, moving on. The Xiaomi 13 Lite has a curved display up front that merges with the side edges and minimal bezels all around the display. There is a dual punch-hole camera in the centre of the display.
The power button & the volume rocker are on the right, the Type-C port is at the bottom, and the phone frame is made of plastic.
As for the back, there’s a rectangular camera island which houses the triple rear cameras with a LED Flash just next to the camera.
The highlight of the back is that the two lenses are in a big circular shape, almost the entire camera module. The xiaomi is at the bottom left and in line with the cameras. The back has glass on top of it, but it is not Gorilla Glass.

Xiaomi 13 Lite Specifications
The Xiaomi 13 Lite features a 6.55-inch curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1080 x 2400 resolution. This is a 12-bit panel with support for Dolby Atoms and HRD10+. It also comes with PVM diming at 1920Hz & has a brightness of 500 nits with a peak brightness of upto 1,000 nits.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor is powering the device, which offers 30% more GPU power and 30% Ai performance compared to the Snapdragon 778G. The midrange device has 8GB LPDDR4X RAM & 128/256GB UFS 2.2 storage.
Runs on the latest version of MIUI, i.e., MIUI 14. However, this specific Mui version is based on Android 12. The 13 Lite comes in three colour options – Lite Blue, Lite Pink and Black
As for the optics – There’s a triple rear camera at the back, which include a 50MP SonyIMX766 main sensor, which we have already seen in other premium smartphones. The 1/1.56 inch sensor with f/1.8 aperture can capture 123% more light than the 12 lite.
The 8MP SonyIMX355 has a 119-degree field of view, and the 2MP macro sensor is the same as last year. At the front, there’s 32MP, and an 8MP depth sensor accompanies it.
The device comes with a 4,500mAh battery with 67W wired fast charging, which can be fully charged in 40 minutes. Although, as expected, there’s no wireless charging.
Now onto the regular Xiaomi 13.
Xiaomi 13 Specifications
The Xiaomi 13 has a 6.36-inch AMOLED display with a 120hz refresh rate and FullHD+ resolution. The display has HRD10+ & Dolby Vision support and is a DCI-P3 colour gamut. It has a brightness of 1,200 nits and goes upto 1,900 nits peak brightness.
The regular Xiaomi 13 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset coupled with up to 12GB LPDDR5x RAM & up to 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. It runs on Miui 14 based on Android 13 out of the box. The handset comes in three colour variants – White, Black and Floral Green.
The regular also features a triple rear camera setup at the back, which includes a 50MP Sony IMX880 sensor with HyperOIS & and 23mm f/1.8 aperture, a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom, OIS, and an f/2.0 aperture.
Lastly, a 12MP ultrawide sensor with f/2.2 aperture and no autofocus. There’s a 32MP front camera for selfies.
Leica tunes the triple cameras, and other features of the camera include – 4K Ultra Night Mode, Cinematic Mode, etc.
There’s a 4,500mAh battery with 67W fast wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reserve wireless charging.

Xiaomi 13 Lite 8GB RAM & 128GB storage variants start at €499/$527.
The Xiaomi 13 8GB/256GB variants start at €999/$1,060.
Both devices will be available starting March 8 on official Mi channels.
