COVID-19 Outbreak is getting serious in our nation. For prevention purposes, the Indian Government is advising everyone to stay at home and work from home. Many companies are supporting this initiative to fight back the global serious pandemic and are doing their part by offering special offers and free products to encourage the quarantine routine. A new addition is BSNL, offering a free broadband plan in its new plan the call Work@Home.
BSNL Work@Home Plan
BSNL’s Work@Home plan is valid across all circles over the country. Customers will get 5GB of daily data at 10Mbps and 1Mbps after the exhaustion of the daily limit. There is no FUP limit on the plan. The plan will be valid for one month from the day of activation and users will be charged according to the plan after the promotional offer.
The Concern
But the disadvantage and particularly for the existing BSNL broadband customers is that this plan is not applicable to existing BSNL Broadband customers and is only for customers who are new or existing broadband customers who don’t have broadband as of now.
While this seems to be a good step it is more than just providing relief amid the COVID-19 Crisis as this plan is not benefitting the existing users of the company’s broadband service, it is a good move by BSNL to attract more customers during this period.
Further Reading
BSNL isn’t the only ISP to offer these extra benefits. ACT too started offering a free upgrade to 300Mbps speeds with unlimited FUP on its fiber broadband for the month of March. Reliance Jio has also taken good steps to promote work from home by revising data vouchers with double data and additional Jio to Non-Jio minutes for some of its plans. All these plans are launched keeping in mind that the majority of the population will be under quarantine till March 31st.
