Google recently announced the Pixel 5a 5G and it has been making some noise in the market. Well, the ‘a’ series from Google is particularly popular among users as it brings a lot of unique Google features to an affordable Google smartphone.

Design and Display
The iconic design for the Pixel phones is going to change with the Google Pixel 6. However, the Pixel 5a 5G and Pixel 4a 5G look exactly the same with the Pixel 5a 5G having some upgrades. It’s a little bigger in size and also has more weight to it(about 185g) compared to Pixel 4a 5G(about 168g).
The Pixel 5a 5G also has an IP67 rating which is great. Along with that, you get a square camera bump at the top-left on both of the smartphones. The physical fingerprint scanner at the back. And both of the phones are available in matte-black color.
In terms of the display, the Pixel 5a 5G has a slightly bigger display of about 6.34-inches. It is an OLED panel with 413ppi pixel density and a 60Hz refresh rate. On the other hand, Pixel 4 5G has a 6.2-inch OLED panel with a pixel density of 413ppi and a refresh rate of 60Hz.
So in terms of design and display, there is no significant change, just some minor upgrades for the Pixel 5a 5G.
Internals
In terms of internals, both Pixel 5a 5G and Pixel 4a 5G do not have anything different. They both have 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage. Both of the smartphones are powered by the same Snapdragon 765G chipset.
The only difference is that the Pixel 5a 5G also comes with the Titan M security chip. They both run on Android 11.

The battery size on the Pixel 4a 5G is just about 3,800mAh. Now, this is a big bump when you consider that both smartphones have 5G capabilities and the 5G waves are power-hungry.
Pricing and Availablity
The Google Pixel 5a 5G is available only for Japan and is priced at USD 449. On the other hand, the Pixel 4a 5G is available at USD 499.

So that was all about the Google Pixel 5a 5G vs Pixel 4a 5G. To be honest, there is no significant difference between both of them. The only big difference is the battery.
At this point, the Pixel 5a 5G seems to be the obvious choice for any user. However, the availability issues with Pixel 5a 5G are real and people are not happy about it.
