Brands like Mi and OnePlus which are not even a decade old had started their Smart TV venture a while ago now, and the Xiaomi brand has seemingly done well with its on-brand pricing and features. And the TVs have been selling like hotcakes.

Now no matter how the last decade of smartphones and android phones especially were tough on Nokia, it is still a veteran manufacturer that met people’s needs and served beyond expectations during its prime. And now they are launching their first Smart TV in India,

Images of the Nokia TV which were allegedly leaked by Digit tell us that the launch of the television segment by Nokia in India is going to start with the 55-inch model and the bottom right corner sported “Sound by JBL” branding.

Bureau of Indian Standards database, month ago, confirmed that the Nokia TV will be having a 4K Ultra HD resolution and will have the JBL audio, the 55-inch screen size was also confirmed.

It is believed that Nokia TV will be running on Android Pie, with preinstalled Google Play Store which would also be coupled with the support of Intelligent dimming technology.

Nokia phones have not exactly been the mainstream contenders in the Indian Smartphone market in recent years but its smart TV clearly has the potential to compete against market giants like OnePlus, Motorola and Xiaomi.

The Flipkart and Nokia association dates back to the time when Nokia smartphones ran on Windows and Microsoft didn’t even own Nokia by then. And so Nokia is going to maintain this exclusivity for its TVs too, as the retail rights are only with Flipkart.
