Realme and Oppo had separated in 2018, realme being a sub-brand of Oppo it was running on the same ColorOS which was seen on Oppo phones. Realme and Oppo have their independent audiences now, especially in India.

The ColorOS is a bit too ‘colorful’ for most people, it comes with bloatware apps which really dulls down the whole experience of any UI. The new customized UI that realme would be rolling out would be as close to stock-android as it can get. It would be also including a software upgrade for a smoother experience altogether.

The following is the timeline for the same-

  • 27th November to 3rd December 2019 — realme X2 Pro beta recruitment application starts (Also available for beta testers from realme X2 Pro and Project X)
  • 9th December — Final list of the Beta testers selected will be announced
  • 18th December 2019 to February 2020 — Beta testing will be conducted for approximately 2 months
  • March 2020 — Stable roll out begins

realme said that information and feedback will be collected from the ColorOS 7 Beta program to further enhance the user interface experience better.

Realme would be ever the more independent by all means with their new Realme UI, and the Chinese brands are often lacking at the software front regarding the excessive bloatware, which sometimes comes off as a cheap ploy. The Android 10 based update sure would be a sign of improvement granted that it also significantly improves the performance of the already loaded realme phones.
