As we know, Samsung has finally launched its Flagship Galaxy S series at its Galaxy Unpacked event in India.
In the previous article, we talked about the Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus, and now it’s time for the Flagship of the series i.e. Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.
As for the S23 Ultra, this year seems to be the refinement year for the series, so let’s take a look a look at what’s new in the Flagship S23 Ultra!
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Design
As for the Design of the S23 Ultra, it is the same as last year’s Galaxy S22 Ultra, but with some further refinements. Anyway, the curved display upfront has minimal bezels all around, and the individual camera housing at the back.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Specifications
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra features the same 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1440×3088 resolution. The display is HDR10+ certified, and has a peak brightness of 1750 nits.
What’s new in the display is the new “Vision Booster” feature that enhances the color of the display as per the lighting around you, and the display is also protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. An ultrasonic sensor is embedded under the display & there’s S-Pen as well.
The Galaxy Flagship is powered by a custom Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset clocked at 3.36GHz (from 3.32GHz), and there’s no Exynos Chipset this time; it’s Snapdragon all the way.
It is coupled with 8GB/12GB RAM & 256GB/512GB/1TB storage variants. Runs on OneUI 5.1, based on Android 13.
S23 Ultra comes in the same four color options as its siblings. But there’s more; the flagship also comes in four Online Exclusive colors – Graphite, Sky Blue, Lime and Red.
As for the cameras – S23 Ultra features a quad camera setup at the back, the same as S22 Ultra, so what’s new, you may ask? Well, it is the new 200MP ISOCELL HP2 sensor, and it is adaptive, as in it combines the 16MP into a 12MP with 2.4um pixels, or it can combine 4 into 1 pixel to get a 50MP shot.
Other cameras on the flagship are more or less the same, i.e. a 10MP 10X periscope lens with f/4.9 aperture, 10MP 3X telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture, a 12MP ultra-wide lens with an f/2.2 aperture & autofocus.
On the front, it’s a 12MP sensor with an f/2.2 aperture & autofocus for selfies and videos.
There’s a 5,000mAh battery with 45W wired fast charging and support from wireless charging. (Same as last year). It is also IP68 dust and water-resistant.
