There were a lot of rumors going on the internet for Xiaomi Mi Max’s next smartphone that is Xiaomi Mi Max 4 but recent Weibo post from Lei Jun the CEO of Xiaomi ended all the rumors that there will not any smartphone from Mi Max or Mi Note series this year.

Earlier this year, Xiaomi announced that Redmi will function as a separate brand from now on. Jun says that they will now only focus on Xiaomi and Redmi brand. He says that the Xiaomi brand will focus on new technologies, premium phones, and flagships. On the other hand, Redmi will be all about bringing the latest technologies at budget.

Xiaomi launched Mi Max 3 last year and it doesn’t seems to have any plan for the next Max series next year and on the other hand Xiaomi launched its last note series smartphone that Xiaomi Mi Note 3 in 2017.

On the brighter side, we can expect any new smartphone from Max or Note series in 2020 or later. But the company’s vision shared by him under the Xiaomi and Redmi brands with regard to phones created with a specific objective, it appears that we might likely not see a new addition to the Mi Max and Mi Note series any time soon.

Jun mentioned that the standard Mi series will focus on flagships, the Mi Mix lineup will be about making beautifully-crafted high-end phones, and the new CC series will focus on young users. As for the Redmi brand, it will focus on creating cost-effective phones.
