Our beloved and favorite free video-streaming app YouTube adds bedtime reminder to reduce your late-night YouTube habits. According to the Verge, this feature was introduced by YouTube on Wednesday to help users avoid late-night streaming. With this coronavirus pandemic, it is being tough to follow our routine. It’s important to set our sleep time and how we spend our time online too. YouTube adds bedtime reminder into an existing platform “Take A Break”. Both the feature is under another broader set “YouTube Wellness and Screen time tools”.

Last month it was revealed that YouTube is going to add a bedtime reminder This new reminder has appeared in a YouTube app APK teardown for Android (v15.13.33). With this new feature, you will be able to set up bedtime (sleep time) and in that duration YouTube will remind you that it is your sleep time, and you should go to sleep. You can dismiss the reminder, or if you are watching a video and you are in the middle, so YouTube let you first complete that video after that it will show the reminder.

Our tech companies always do increasingly for our ease and reliability. Google is helping its users more responsibly by introducing such helpful features into its application. The bedtime reminder lets you set a specific time (according to your choice) when you want to pause watching videos and go to sleep.

With the coronavirus pandemic, everyone is stuck at home and stare the screen whole day, either it is due to work from home or for the entertainment, whole day most of us involved with our smartphones or PC’s which is dangerous for our health too, you can suffer from several diseases due to these bad-habits.

  • Open YouTube on your smartphone.
  • Sign in to YouTube.
  • Go to Settings.
  • Tap on General.
  • Turn to Remind me when it’s time for bed on (to enable it) & off (to disable it).
  • Set a start and end time for the reminder according to your preference.

You can also add a reminder by another method in which you need to follow the given steps

  • Open YouTube on your smartphone.
  • Sign in to YouTube
  • Tap on your profile picture at the top right corner of your smartphone.
  • Go to Time watched.
  • Turn to Remind me when it’s time for bed on (to enable it) & off (to disable it).
  • Set a start and end time for the reminder according to your preference.

Also, if you want to complete your video before the bedtime reminder appears, so also check the box in front of “Wait until I finish my video to show reminder” while setting up the reminder. This will let you complete the video you are streaming and show the reminder as the video gets finished. Also, you can snooze the reminder for 10 minutes and moreover, you can dismiss it. If you want to stop these reminders, you can disable this feature at any time.

YouTube adds bedtime reminder into its application on Wednesday, i.e. May 20, 2020 for both Android and iOS but it will take time to roll out to everyone.
