People are actually quite eagerly waiting for an official launch for the new iPhone 9. Well, there’s some good news for you. It’s already been reported that Apple might be launching the iPhone on the 15th of April. Earlier today, a major Chinese e-commerce website JD.com published a placeholder page for the iPhone 9. The page was later taken down but MySmartPrice was able to get a screenshot of the website.

Apple iPhone 9 launch and Speculations

There are a lot of speculations that are revolving around the upcoming iPhone. For JD.com to make a dedicated page for the new iPhone 9 only indicated that we will see the device soon. Interestingly, it is expected to be comparatively more budget-friendly and affordable(only comparatively) much like the iPhone SE. There were talks that the upcoming budget-friendly model will be called iPhone SE2 but that doesn’t seem to be the case as the website clearly mentions the name iPhone 9.

The launch for iPhone 9 was actually rumored to be on 31st of March but the ongoing pandemic and lockdown pushed the launch and it is expected to be unveiled on the 15th of April.

For iPhone 9, Apple might be going back to school with the designs of the iPhone 8 and have thick bezels at top and bottom. The Home button might be back to support the Touch ID for iPhone 9. The iPhone 9 on the processor end will still have the A13 Bionic chipset. Much like every other iPhone, it will also have two display sizes: a 4.7-inch iPhone 9 and a 5.5-inch iPhone 9 Plus. iPhone 9 will also have an NFC chip to support Apple Pay.

As far as the pricing details are to be speculated, it is still unclear what the prices for the different models of the new iPhone 9 will be but it is expected that the base variant of the iPhone will be priced at $399.

iPhone 9 will be a really good option for users who are wanting to upgrade from iPhone6 or iPhone 7 and do not want to spend too much.

Again the only concern is the current status with the COVID-19 pandemic. We will have to see how companies will manage to ship the products amid lockdown.
