JioMart is part of the e-commerce wing of Reliance Industries. As of now it majorly delivers groceries and some household stuff but it seems that JioMart is getting ready to speed up the competition against Big Basket, Amazon, and Flipkart. To do so, it has also cut down the delivery fees to zero with no minimum order value.
JioMart Makes All Deliveries Free
JioMart is not charging any delivery charges on all orders, no minimum order value. You will get free delivery from JioMart now. Before the announcement, the minimum order of INR 750 was required to get free delivery.
To ramp up the competition, Reliance has already launched the JioMart app for Android this week and the iOS version of the app might be coming soon too. They are also planning to expand beyond groceries, JioMart will start selling electronics, fashion, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare products too.
Currently, JioMart is available in 200 cities across India, and the chairman of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani says that it receives 2,50,000 orders a day.
At Reliance’s AGM which took place earlier this week, Ambani said that the expansion of JioMart is in full throttle right now. Interesting thing is that the brand Jio is very popular and trusted in India so they have a lot of potentials and it will be interesting to see the expansion of JioMart throughout India.
