No Pixel 5XL this Year, Only Pixel 4A 5G and Pixel 5 Appeared on Google App Code
From a few months back now, we were tracking three codenames of Google’s Pixel Phone 2020- sunfish, redfin, and bramble. Some leaks suggest that Sunfish is powered by Snapdragon 730 Soc for Pixel4A 5G and Pixel 5 was codenamed as Redfin and expected to be powered with either Snapdragon 765, 765G, or 768G SoC.
Dylan Roussel from 9to5 Google get deeper into the code of the latest beta version of the Google search app and found out the name of the complete Google Pixel 2020 series. According to Dylan, the upcoming device list reveal Pixel 4A 5G and Pixel 5 models, but no Pixel 5XL was listed there. You can check yourself from the below image.
So far they found evidence that a bramble codenamed device will be powered by a Snapdragon 765Gchip, which is obviously used for 5G connectivity. Another question arises, how is Google going to differentiate between two similar devices? They could make a difference in cost, design, and build quality. They can use cheaper material like ‘Plastic’ in Pixel 4A, and a premium ‘Glass’ material in Pixel 5.
Its good to know that Google Pixel 4A 5G and Pixel 5 are coming soon, but no Pixel 5XL this year is quite disappointing. Now we have to wait for the official announcement of the event, and launch of Google Pixel 2020 series.
