- Windows 11 24H2 is the latest version of Windows, it comes with the a ton of features and performance upgrades.
- However, some PCs may not meet the minimum hardware requirements set by Microsoft to install it.
- We have discussed two different methods Rufus and Flyby11 to install it on your unsupported PCs.
Windows 11 24H2 is currently the hot thing revolving around the internet in the OS community. It comes with a ton of new features and performance upgrades than the previous versions.
Some of us are even saying that this could be the base version of Windows 12, as it provides a variety of updates over the previous version of Windows 11.
At the same time, Windows 10 is set to go down very soon; the deadline is scheduled for the 14th of October 2025. Microsoft will end the free software updates, security fixes, and any technical assistance of it from that day onwards.
Users still using Windows 10 need to think about it and upgrade to Windows 11 as soon as possible. If your device’s hardware is compatible with the minimum requirement, you can upgrade to Windows 11 easily.
If your PC hardware is not supported for Windows 11, there are a few workarounds that will help you bypass the hardware restrictions. We will be showing you two different methods that can be used to install Windows 11 24H2 on unsupported PC.
Windows 11 System Requirements
- Processor: Clock speed of 1 GHz and above with a core count of 2 and above (list of supported CPUs)
- RAM: 4GB
- Storage: 64 GB or more
- System Firmware: UEFI and Secure Boot compatible
- TPM: TPM version 2.0
- Graphics Card: DirectX 12 or newer
Bypass Hardware Requirements Using Rufus
Rufus is one of the most used tools that users use to create bootable media, whether it is Windows 11 or any earlier versions of Windows.
Fortunately, Rufus has this feature for a long time; you can easily bypass the hardware limitations while creating the Windows 11 24H2 bootable media.
Just follow the below steps carefully install Windows 11 on a unsupported PC using Rufus,
- The first thing you need to do is download the latest Windows 11 24H2 ISO file. We have already got a guide for that; check that.
- When you’re done, go to the official Rufus website and download the latest version.
- Insert an empty flash drive into the system. (Note: without inserting a flash drive, you can’t proceed further.)
- Open the Rufus application and check whether the correct USB drive is selected under the Device.
- Now, under the Boot selection section, click on the Select button to open the File Explorer. Search and select the previously downloaded Windows 11 24H2 ISO file.
- And then click on the Start button.
- As soon as you click on the Start button, a new window/dialogue box named Windows User Experience will pop up.
- Check the first option “Remove requirement for 4GB+ RAM, Secure Boot and TPM 2.0” and click on the OK button.
- It will take a couple of minutes to complete the process. After that, use that USB to install Windows 11 24H2 on unsupported PC.
Now, in case you don’t like the Rufus method for some reasons, there is one more tool/patcher on the market called Flyby11; you can use it too.
Bypass Hardware Requirements Using Flyby11
Flyby11 is a recently introduced tool, or I would say patcher, that uses the server setup method to bypass the hardware requirements for Windows 11 24H2.
Now, what does a server setup method mean? It simply means that the tool adds a simple command that makes the Windows setup think that it is installing Windows on a server and not on a PC. By doing that, the setup skips checking the hardware requirements like TPM, secure boot, CPU, or RAM.
The author writes:
Flyby11 is a simple patcher that removes the annoying restrictions preventing you from installing Windows 11 (24H2) on unsupported hardware. Got an old PC? No TPM, Secure Boot, or your processor isn’t supported? Flyby11 lets you install Windows 11 24H2 anyway.
Flyby11 leverages a feature of the Windows 11 setup process that uses the Windows Server variant of the installation. This variant, unlike the regular Windows 11 setup, skips most hardware compatibility checks, allowing it to run on unsupported systems.
Note: This method is meant to be done on the unsupported PC itself. This will directly start the Windows 11 installation, so make sure to backup any important data that is needed to be saved.
Without further ado, let’s start the method to install Windows 11 24H2 on an unsupported device.
- The first thing you need to do is download the latest Windows 11 24H2 ISO file. We have already got a guide for that; check that.
- When you’re done, go to the Flyby11 Github page and download the latest release.
- Launch the Flyby11.exe file.
- Check on the (Method 1) Inplace Upgrade via Server Setup and click on the Patch button.
- On clicking the Patch button, it will open a new tool to download Windows, but since we already have downloaded it, we will click on the Close button, then select the ISO from the File Explorer.
- After that, the Windows setup will automatically start. You might see a black Command Prompt, you can close it.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install Windows 11 on your PC.
The installation might take a while. After the installation, your PC will restart to Windows 11 24H2. Continue with the setup if necessary or enjoy the latest Windows.
That was all. We have gone through both the available methods to install Windows 11 on an unsupported PC. You can try either way to do it on your own PC.
Note that if you use these methods, you might not get the future major updates like 24H3 or newer. You will have to use these methods again to update to the latest major update.
